Stop Running!

20130515-224025.jpg

I don’t know about you, but when I run away from what I need to deal with, I get tired. Something tells me you do, too.

Don’t run from your problems, run to God instead. Running from your problems makes you tired. Running to Jesus brings rest. When we are rested, we are better able to fight the enemy. So, run to God, rest up, and then be ready to stand firm in the face of the enemy. Oh, and prepare for victory, cuz it’s on the way!

Blessings,

Sarah

Stand and See
By Joel & Victoria Osteen

You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:17 NASB)

Do you ever find yourself avoiding a difficult situation? Many people today run when things get hard. They run from their problems. They run from responsibility. They run from people they don’t like. They run from the past. They run from anything that makes them uncomfortable. Instead of facing the issue and dealing with it, they look for the path of least resistance, which isn’t the path to victory. If we are going to embrace all that God has for us, we have to learn how to face our challenges head on.

Notice that today’s verse doesn’t say, “Keep running until you see the salvation of the Lord.” It doesn’t say, “Bury your head in the sand until God delivers you.” It doesn’t say, “Worry all night and try to figure things out until a miracle takes place.” No, God wants us to stand strong, set our faces like a flint, and fight the good fight of faith. And the good news is you don’t have to do it in your own strength! God is on your side. He’s equipped you with His supernatural power to overcome every obstacle.

Today, know that God is with you. He is for you. You are equipped to overcome. Stand strong, stand in faith, knowing that you will see the salvation and deliverance of Almighty God in every area of your life!

Prayer:
Father, I humbly come to You and ask You search my heart. Show me any area in my life that I need to surrender completely to You. Help me to stand strong and see Your salvation in every area of my life! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Choosing to Live

20130417-090234.jpg

I love the way Pastor Prince teaches. He has such a deep knowledge and insight in the scripture. Be blessed by this devo today, remembering that we have been put here to LIVE! Don’t waste a moment.

I know there are many times I think to myself..dang..”I wish I would’ve just”, or, “I wish I could’ve just”, but the time has passed. I want to be able to arrive at the end of my life and say I’ve finished the race..not that I only finished the parts of the race that suited me best.

Here’s to growing, and living, together!

Blessings,

Sarah

Born To Die So That You Might Live
By Joseph Prince

Luke 2:12
12And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

You are probably familiar with the story of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. The Bible says that when the time had come, Mary “brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger”. (Luke 2:6–7) But have you ever wondered why the angel told the shepherds that the Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger was a “sign”?

A manger is actually a feeding trough for livestock. Do you know what a feeding trough in those days looks like? I have seen a similar one at Solomon’s stables in Meggido, Israel. It is basically a big rectangular block of stone with the trough hewn out of it. So baby Jesus, who was wrapped in swaddling cloths, was placed in such a stone trough.

But why was that a sign? Because if you have seen the empty tomb of Jesus at a place called The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, you would have noticed that the place where His body was laid, inside a tomb hewn out of rock, resembles a stone trough. The Bible says that after Jesus’ crucifixion and death, Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus’ body, wrapped it in linen and laid it in a tomb hewn out of a rock. (Mark 15:43–46)

Can you see the similarities? Wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger, baby Jesus would one day be wrapped in linen and laid in a tomb. That was the sign the angel was referring to. It pointed to Jesus’ death.

Jesus was the only child in all of humanity born to die. Once you realize that, you will realize how much God loves you. You will realize that He gave up His Son for that one purpose, and that His Son willingly came for that one purpose — to die for your sins and mine.

Beloved, can you imagine living your life knowing that you are just qualifying yourself to die on the cross to save the world? That was the life that Jesus lived. He lived to die, so that we might live and enjoy life abundantly today!

Thought For The Day
Jesus was born to die and He lived to die, so that we might live and enjoy life abundantly today!

Always on the Run!

20130315-001240.jpg

It’s been a crazy week, and it doesn’t look to be letting up anytime soon. I’m sure many of you can relate! But even in the crazy times, we can take a moment to pause and refocus our eyes on Him. Because with and in Him all things are possible. We can do anything with Him by our side. So as I get ready to run around like a chicken with my head cut off today, I’m gonna do it with a smile, knowing that I’m not doing any of it by myself. I have my Savior with me! I encourage you to do the same. I think if you do, you’ll notice you don’t mind fulfilling those pesky obligations nearly as much. 🙂

Blessings,

Sarah

Are You Too Busy For God?
By Emily Riley

Most people know the importance of spending time with God. But in the midst of life, sometimes it’s just hard to find the time. Schedules fill up quickly, work consumes our thoughts at night, family and friends vie for our attention, and then there’s this thing called sleep. How do you fit it all in? What do you let “drop”? What do you do when you simply need 36 hours in a day instead of 24?

There can be many reasons and causes for our busy lives. But, no matter the season, no matter the busy schedule we have, God demands our worship. The sisters, Mary and Martha are a good example of this. Its easy for me to relate to Martha… busy with serving… busy with something good, but missing what was most important.

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are) anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:38-42)

I want to grow in that faith that Mary had… faith to rest and not be anxious. The wisdom to see what is most important. Faith to trust in God to provide and to be able to simply rest there.

Prayer: Father, Help us to look to you, no matter how busy our lives may be. Be our number one priority and help us to in faith, trust you to provide the needed strength for the other events of our day. You are all powerful and you care for us. Help that truth to increase our faith and trust in you. Forgive us for where we are anxious. Thank you for the reminder that if you care for the needs of the birds of the air, you care for us.

You Don’t Have to Fight Goliath Alone

20130313-000204.jpg

I hope your week is going well. Mine has had ups and downs, but even in the downs there are blessings to be had, if we choose to look. And I am determined to CHOOSE to look.

Once you choose hope, anything is possible.

People are growing, changing directions, moving forward, moving backwards, staying stagnant, showing up, disappearing..some being faithful, some failing miserably. But in every instance there is an opportunity for growth.

Are you going to stare at your Goliath from afar, turn away and hide? Or will you choose to hold Daddy’s hand and RUN towards that obstacle, trusting that He will be with you and help you conquer even the mightiest of giants? I hope you choose to RUN! Let the exhileration of running with your Father towards your mountain take over. Leave fear behind and strain ahead towards the blessings waiting for you on the other side.

I encourage you to really dive into the knowledge of how deeply He loves you. Not many people would truly run into bloody battle with you. But He will. And, He never loses.

Align yourself with His word, fill yourself with his truth. Grab His hand, and when He says, “Ok sweetie, it’s time to RUN with Daddy, we’ve got a war to win!” Be READY to RUN!!

You are more than a conqueror and you can do ALL things in His name. So..what are you waiting for?

I’m cheering for you and believing in you! Be ready, my friend. You are loved!

Blessings,

Sarah
