I get these emails daily..sometimes they are in alignment with what I believe, sometimes they aren’t. The prayers, or devotionals, or thoughts, come from different authors, so of course theres a bit of a Russian Roulette as to whether or not I will enjoy the reading.
The ones that pray to “the universe”, I give a delete to. I can know with certainty, those prayers aren’t for me. The universe is His. It’s God’s creation. I don’t pray to His creatION, I pray to The CreatOR!
Anyway, when this mornings email came in, I saw the first sentence and was like..hmm..do I like that? Labeling Him as “Infinite Wisdom”? Kinda different than the usual Alpha and Omega or Jehovah titles, but also not inaccurate. After all, He IS infinite wisdom. Then in the next sentence they start talking about a “Higher vibration”. You’re losin me now, buddy..finger on delete button..Oh, but wait, it’s the higher vibration known as THE GREAT I AM he’s talking about! Now that’s the God I serve..the Great! I! Am! So I read on, and ended up really loving the prayer.
I guess I’ve shared that with you because sometimes in life, we see the very surface of something or someone..the first impression..and right away, before digging any deeper, we judge it. We judge without really knowing. Because we do that, we miss out on many opportunities and friendships.
Today I encourage you to dig a little deeper before throwing something, or someone, out of your life. Get to the root of the situation before you start tugging on it for removal. Things aren’t always as they seem at first glance.
Of course, there ARE some things we can know instantly that are not good for us, and those things we give an instant NO to. But, many times, we throw out the old brown, spotted banana because it looks bad on the outside, instead of using it to make a delicious banana bread.
The Lord sees through the mess, straight into the heart. We should do that, too.
“..God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face; God looks into the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:17b
Have a beautiful weekend, friends! My love and prayers are with you.
**On a side note, continued prayers for my brother are much appreciated. He’s recovering, but it’s a slow go. We know God can do infinitely more than we can hope or dream. And so we are believing for that now.
